Aznive Sabonjian
Long-time ARS member Aznive Sabonjian has donated $25,000 to the ARS, Inc. Centennial Endowment Fund for a simple reason. “I believe in the ARS’s mission and good things that ARS does, not only in Armenia but also in the Diaspora,” said Sabonjian recently. “I really appreciate what ARS does for all countries.” “And I’m very proud to be one of them.” Sabonjian joined the ARS in Syria nearly 50 years ago. When she moved to San Diego, California 28 years ago, Sabonjian helped form the ARS San Diego “Roubena” Chapter. A Los Angeles resident for the past seven years, Sabonjian is now a member of the ARS Western USA’s “Sipan” Chapter. Sabonjian’s dearest wish in making her $25,000 donation is to serve as an example to other ARS members and individuals who care about the delivery of quality humanitarian service and encourage them to make a generous donation to the ARS Inc. Centennial Fund. “My message is that whatever they can donate – because not everyone can donate a big amount of money – but everyone can donate something to accumulate and become a big sum which is needed so badly. “ARS is our pride,” she added emotionally. “Pretty soon it will be 100 years old. By that time, I hope they accomplish their $5 million goal for ARS.” The ARS Inc. Centennial Endowment Fund has been created in honor of the Society’s centennial anniversary in 2010. Established in New York City in 1910, the ARS is the oldest and largest Armenian women’s organization serving the social and humanitarian needs of Armenians and others in 23 diverse countries. The ARS Inc.’s goal is to raise at least $5 million for the Fund and use the interest to strengthen existing programs and establish new ones for the betterment of Armenians and others everywhere. To make a donation to the ARS Inc. Centennial Endowment Fund, please visit the ARS, Inc. website located at www.ars1910.org and go to the Centennial Fund Drive page for a donation form.
